Chocolate Cookies

Makes 36-42 cookies (depending on size)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 3 oz boxes Nestle Sno Caps or 10 oz package, split 2/3 & 1/3, or other nonpareils

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, place rack in middle of the oven

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter & sugar

  3. Mix in the eggs & vanilla

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking soda & cocoa powder

  5. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, 1 cup at a time

  6. Fold in 2 boxes of Sno Caps or 6-7oz of other mini nonpareils

  7. Prepare baking sheet by laying down parchment paper

  8. Scoop large tablespoon dollops onto parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch space between

  9. Top each with 2-3 of the remaining mini nonpariels/Sno Caps

  10. Place in oven & bake for 9-11 minutes or until the centers are done

  11. Remove from oven & set the baking sheet aside to cool for a couple of minutes before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack

  12. Store in an air-tight container
